A bet on 12 numbers on any of three lines on the roulette table (like as 1st line - 1-4-7-10 and down to 34). The chip is to be placed on the square below the last number in this line. A bet on either the first (1-12), second (13-24), or third (25-36) twelve numbers. On an American roulette wheel layout, you will see 38 pockets in total: the numbers 1-36, as well as 0 (zero) and 00 (double zero). Each of these pockets is exactly the same size, meaning all numbers are equally likely to be hit on any given spin. The roulette wheel is the central element to any roulette game, be that in a brick and mortar casino or online. New players to the game are often unsure as to how many numbers on a roulette wheel there actually are or even how the wheel layout looks from one game to another. The European Roulette wheel and table layout are slightly different than those of the American. The American roulette table layout has an additional '00' sector, making the total number of the pockets on the wheel 38. This slightly reduces the winning odds and increases the house edge at American Roulette. What makes a Neighbours bet different? By contrast to the regular bets on a roulette table, a Neighbours bet allows you to bet on entire sectors that are related to the roulette. You have the 36 regular numbers, split into columns of 12, and sitting on top is a single, green zero. So while you can get 35/1 odds on hitting one of your numbers, the chances are actually 36/1 when you add the green zero segment because there are 37 segments in total.

Played roulette before? Didn’t really get what the layout meant on the table? No problem, we are here to help you out! Although there are different versions of the game, we will focus on the most commonly played, which is the American Roulette Wheel and it’s layout.

On the American style layout is usually a double zero on the layout because of the way the game is played. The American style online roulette table with a wheel at one end is, as we mentioned, the most played version of the game in casinos worldwide. There are different types of bets and these are closely related to the roulette wheel layout.

Let’s take a look at the wheel first.

Depending on the version (one zero or double zeros) the numbers on the wheel are located clockwise like this:

0, 28, 9, 26, 30, 11, 7, 20, 32, 17, 5, 22, 34, 15, 3, 24, 36, 13, 1, 00, 27, 10, 25, 29, 12, 8, 19, 31, 18, 6, 21, 33, 16, 4, 23, 35, 14, 2

There are some very important differences between the American Roulette and the other common versions of the game. A player should always make sure they are aware of these differences in the roulette wheel layout so they can not only get a better comprehension of the game but also, to improve their gaming and their chances to win the cash. Let’s take a look at some of the most important differences you might find:

American Roulette Table Layout

The European Roulette is played with a single zero; it uses the same layout and roulette wheel that the American version does with the same sequence of numbers, except for this little difference.

On the French Roulette you will find a wide table layout and Stickmen that handle the chips.
It is important to remember that the American version can include both a 0 and a 00, in some European casinos you will notice that the American Roulette with a single zero is known as Fair Roulette. That extra zero might not be very appealing to some players as it means that the house has a better edge (5.26 percent).
